For many Amersfoort residents, the Koppelpoort is the symbol of the city. The medieval water gate dates from the fifteenth century and is one of the best-preserved city gates in the Netherlands.
We spoke with people from the Jordaan, Soesterkwartier and the centre. Everyone has their own Amersfoort: the baker on the corner, the park where you played as a child, the canal you cross every day.
