Do I need to book a ticket in advance to visit the museum?

Accepted Answer

This is allowed, but not required. We do recommend booking a ticket with a time slot in advance. This way we can regulate the number of visitors as much as possible and you are always guaranteed access at a time that suits you.

What payment methods does Museum Flehite accept?

Accepted Answer

At the Museum Flehite desk, payment can only be made by debit card or credit card (Visa and MasterCard, no American Express).

Question 3

I have ordered my Museum Card but have not yet received it. Can I still visit the museum at the Museum Card holder rate?

Accepted Answer

Visitors who hold a valid Museum Card but are unable to show it for any reason are not entitled to admission. Copies or (digital) images of the Museum Card are not accepted.

Question 4

Can I purchase a Museum Card at Museum Flehite?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Museum Cards are available for purchase at the museum desk. You can use the card immediately. For more information and the conditions of the Museum Card, please visit the Museum Association.

Question 5

Can I use the cloakroom and a locker?

Accepted Answer

Museum Flehite has lockers to store your belongings during your visit. There is also a cloakroom where you can hang your coat. For closing some of the lockers you need a 50 cent coin; you get this back afterwards.

Question 6

Am I required to use the cloakroom and/or a locker?

Accepted Answer

Only (hand)bags may be taken into the museum. The maximum size for this is A4 format. We ask you to leave other items, such as a coat or larger bag, in the cloakroom and/or locker. Backpacks do not fit in the lockers and can be handed in at the desk.

Is Museum Flehite accessible for people with disabilities?

Accepted Answer

The museum building is accessible by wheelchair at the entrance at Westsingel 50. All floors can be reached by elevator. Visitors who cannot move through the museum independently may bring a companion free of charge. Wheelchairs are also available for loan at the ticket desk and stools are available throughout the museum for resting. Flehite has an adapted toilet. Can I bring my dog to the museum?

Accepted Answer

Dogs and other pets are not allowed, with the exception of assistance animals. Museum Flehite does reserve the right to refuse assistance animals in certain rooms due to conservation requirements of some works.

Question 9

Is eating and drinking allowed in the museum?

Accepted Answer

Consuming food or drinks in Museum Flehite is not permitted. Refreshments are available in the reception hall; these may not be taken into the exhibition rooms. Do you have a medical reason why you need to eat or drink? Please inform one of our staff members in advance.

Question 10

What happens to lost and found items?

Accepted Answer

Lost and found items are kept in Museum Flehite for a maximum of six months. If you think you may have lost something in the museum, please report to the reception desk during our opening hours (Tue to Sun, 10am-5pm). Found items with an (assumed) value of more than € 450 are handed in to the municipality of Amersfoort or the police.

Can I come to the museum by car?

Please note: the historic city centre of Amersfoort is low-traffic.

Parking nearby: The city centre of Amersfoort is low-traffic. You can use the parking garages on the edge of the low-traffic area. Near the museum, within 5-10 minutes walking distance: Stadhuisplein and St. Jorisplein. There are no longer any parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the museum, only permit holder spaces.

Can I drop someone off at the door?

Do you need to drop someone off at the museum entrance? That is possible. Please contact us at least one hour in advance at 033 – 2471109 or send a message to: beheer@museumflehite.nl. Provide your name, license plate and arrival time, and the museum will arrange a temporary exemption for you.

Question 13

Can I park with a disabled parking permit?

Accepted Answer

With a disabled parking permit you can park in Amersfoort in all zones and on all parking spaces, with the exception of parking garages. Within the municipality of Amersfoort, deviating from national policy, you may also park on all parking spaces in permit areas and park without payment at parking meters and machines.

Can I become a Friend of Museum Flehite?

Accepted Answer

Yes, please! As a Friend of Museum Flehite you support the museum in realising its plans and ambitions. As a Friend you always have free admission (for two people) and receive a 20% discount on Museum Flehite publications. You will also receive an invitation to the annual friends lecture.

Send an email to info@museumflehite.nl. Provide your name, address and phone number with the subject ‘Becoming a Friend’. The secretariat will contact you as soon as possible. After payment of the membership fee (€ 50 per year) you will receive a Friends Card from the museum.
