A New Light on Withoos: Three Generations

Museum Flehite in Amersfoort presents until 11 September 2022 the first major retrospective of Dutch master painter Mathias Withoos. The 17th-century painter enjoys international fame for the dramatic, Caravaggio-influenced light in his sweeping cityscapes and detailed still lifes. In the exhibition A New Light on Withoos, works by three generations of the Withoos family are shown: by father Mathias, his children, and by contemporary photographer and descendant Hans Withoos.
