Amersfoort from Your Window

Museum Flehite has beautiful cityscapes in its collection: the city of Amersfoort depicted in all kinds of ways over the years. Many cityscapes were made outdoors at well-known spots in Amersfoort. The works by artists such as Annemieke Alberts, Anton Piek, Uwe Poth, Wolters and Withoos can regularly be seen by everyone in the museum. But what does the city look like now, from the windows of Amersfoort residents? We wanted to find out.

During the surreal lockdown period, we challenged city residents to capture their own view in a work of art. Photographs, paintings, etchings, objects, collages, linocuts, drawings — a wide range of creative depictions of Amersfoort views flooded into our inbox.
