Museum Amersfoort is the city museum of Amersfoort. In the heart of the historic city centre, three remarkable late medieval wall houses tell the stories of the city and its inhabitants.

Three wall houses full of stories
Museum Amersfoort is housed in three remarkable wall houses on Breestraat, in the heart of the historic city centre.
Built on the old city wall
The wall houses owe their name to their position on the foundations of Amersfoort first city wall.
Houses that changed with the city
In the centuries that followed, the houses took on ever new functions. They were residential homes, warehouses, a military hospital and ultimately a museum.
How it began
The history of Museum Amersfoort goes back to 1870, when curious members of the Oudheidkundige Vereniging Flehite began collecting stories and objects from the city.
Museum café and terrace
During your visit you can also relax in the museum cafe and our lovely terrace with a view of the Koppelpoort.
Welcome
Museum Amersfoort brings together residents and visitors and connects the stories of the city with the world of today. Everyone is welcome to look, think along and be surprised.

Museum Amersfoort is part of the Amersfoort in C foundation, together with Kunsthal KAdE, Mondriaanhuis, Elleboogkerk, Mannenzaal and Architecture Centre FASadE.
